In a thrilling, paint-swapping duel to the checkered flag, Denny Hamlin captured his first victory of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series® season in the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway.With his No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry TRD, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver closed in on the race leader in the final 40 laps of the race. Hamlin tried several times to make his way to the lead, only to be denied. That was until the race’s final lap, when Hamlin provided a tap to the leader’s bumper. With the contact, Hamlin was able to steer to the lead that he would not relinquish as the checkered flag waved. Hamlin’s 49th career NASCAR Cup Series® victory was also the 400th all-time for the Joe Gibbs Racing organization.
